Associate editors
Associate Editors oversee peer review of manuscripts in their area of expertise. They evaluate them initially for soundness and suitability, then nominate confidential peer reviewers. Later they review all recommendations, set final requirements and finally evaluate author revisions. They carry out these tasks using an on-line peer review management system which has automatic features to ease and streamline the process.
California Agriculture Associate Editors also represent the journal on the UC campuses, in county UC ANR Cooperative Extension (UCCE) offices and at the UC ANR research and extension centers (RECs). The panel membership includes UCCE advisors and specialists, as well as faculty and researchers in the Agricultural Experiment Station colleges: the UC Berkeley College of Natural Resources, the UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and the UC Riverside College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.
If you are interested in learning more about Associate Editor procedures, or serving as an Associate Editor, please contact Debbie Thompson, Managing Editor.
