Bush tomatoes show very low levels of pesticide residues JF - California Agriculture JO - Calif Agr Y1 - 1992/09/01 VL - 46 IS - 5 SP - 17 EP - 20 PB - University of California Agriculture and Nature Resources SN - 0008-0845 UR - http://www.ucanr.edu/sites/calagjournal/archive/?article=ca.v046n05p17 AB - Do pesticide residues persist on bush tomatoes? Apparently not — or at least not much, according to a new study. When fruit was treated directly, then washed and brushed during normal postharvest handling, most — if not all — chemical residues were reduced by 50 to 95%. Extensive sampling at commercial packing facilities showed no detectable residues.
